Daniella Pineda champions circular fashion on the global stage
Actress, environmental advocate, and board member of the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, Daniella Pineda spotlights sustainable fashion.

Daniella Pineda may be captivating audiences on screen in
The Accountant 2 alongside Ben Affleck, but her impact goes far beyond the world of film. As an environmental advocate and proud board member of the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, Daniella is using her growing platform to spotlight sustainability – and she’s doing it with intention.
As part of her recent press tour and campaign collaborations, Daniella partnered with G-STAR and DbyD eyewear, two brands with various Cradle to Cradle Certified® product ranges. Whether featured in press-day looks or through social and digital content, her support of these brands highlights that fashion must lead, not follow, in the shift towards a circular economy.
From Hollywood to the boardroom: An advocate with purpose
Daniella brings creativity, urgency, and empathy to everything she does, whether it’s acting, writing, producing, or championing sustainability.
“I care deeply about the arts and artists, about cinema, and I care about living things. I care about trees and critters,” she says. “No sentient being, no matter how small, wants to die or suffer. I believe in restoring harmony.”
After discovering the book Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the way we make things by architect William McDonough and chemist Michael Braungart, the pioneering minds behind the Cradle to Cradle design framework, Daniella was struck by its vision of circular design. She found the ideas fascinating, inspiring her to launch her own circular business.
Although the venture didn’t succeed, it led her to a passionate network of environmental changemakers. Through that network, she connected with Jeffrey Hogue, who encouraged her to join the board of the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute.
“It gave me hope,” she says. “And I’m so happy I did.”

Inside G-STAR’s sustainability commitment
For G-STAR, sustainability isn’t a side effort – it’s a central driver of innovation.
“Cradle to Cradle Certified® helps us go beyond traditional compliance and really reimagine how garments are made,” says Rebecca Sancho, Head of Sustainability at G-STAR. “It’s embedded into our design decisions, our choice of suppliers and mills, and even how we think about end-of-life systems for our garments.”
The brand has achieved major milestones, including a denim product range and knits awarded with Cradle to Cradle Certified® Full Scope Gold level in Version 3.1 and by designing products with denim awarded by Cradle to Cradle Certified® Material Health at Gold Level in Version 4.0 for pioneering fiber recycling, and eliminating harmful chemicals from production.
In 2020, G-STAR introduced its first fully Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold garment, where every component, from fabric to buttons to labeling, met the certification standard. Since then, the company has produced over 200,000 fully C2C Certified® pieces.
Looking forward, G-STAR is expanding circular design principles across all collections and introducing digital product passports to boost transparency.
“When a product is C2C Certified®, it’s a signal that every part of its design and production has been scrutinized and improved,” Rebecca Sancho shares. “Consumers can feel confident they’re choosing something safer for their skin, better for the planet, and part of a more responsible system.”
To help consumers identify these products, G-STAR clearly labels Cradle to Cradle Certified® garments in-store and online, with filters and communication tools that make sustainable shopping easier. G-STAR’s C2C Certified® products are available at g-star.com, in retail locations worldwide, and through select partners.
