Lead– Packaging, Print & Paper
As Global Packaging Lead Charles plays a key role in driving the systems change to accelerate the circular transition in the packaging, print and paper industries. He works closely with companies and stakeholders to guide their efforts to apply circularity and sustainability principles and to scale uptake of Cradle to Cradle certification across packaging applications.
Prior to joining the institute Charles worked at multinationals in the value chain of flexible packaging, from basic polymers at DSM to industrial and consumer packaging at Amcor and Clondalkin. Together with clients and suppliers he implemented changes towards more sustainable packaging solutions, such as reducing material use by changing the packaging concepts or improving recyclability by shifting to mono-materials or compostable solutions. By connecting practical knowledge and material science, he worked in a start-up company on recyclable packaging concepts for fresh food.
Charles holds a MBA from the University of Hertfordshire and a BSc. from Larenstein University of applied sciences.
